On Saturday, May 10, join Dress for Success Mercer County for its fourth annual Power Walk 5K. Become  part of the ONLY international 5K dedicated to empowering economically disadvantaged women in their quest to find employment and become financially independent. Most of Dress for Success clients are moms with children, so helping them to obtain jobs helps the whole family.

“The Power Walk is a true celebration of what we work to accomplish every day at Dress for Success Mercer County—helping women develops their professional path while building an incredible network of inspirational women,” says Lorrie Klaric, executive director of Dress for Success Mercer County.

Each mile on this 3.1-mile walk will represent each of the three phases that the women of Dress for Success experience as they journey along their path to professional success—from being unemployed and searching, to recently employed and adjusting, to gainfully employed and succeeding.

Dress for Success Mercer County provides resources to women on every stage of the journey. For women facing unemployment, the Going Places Network by Walmart® provides a nine-week course focused on developing the necessary job search, interview, and presentation skills to attain employment. For our clients who have successfully navigated the job search and secured employment, the Professional Women’s Group provides a monthly forum for women hoping to build on their career success and develop professional connections.

The Power Walk for Dress for Success Mercer County will host a health & wellness fair and Mother’s Day Plant Sale on site at the event. This year’s event is sponsored by Beds & Borders Inc, Shionogi Inc, and Stark & Stark.
