Vegan and gluten-free diets are becoming more popular, but adopting these lifestyles comes with a learning curve in both the kitchen and the grocery store. For a fee, two popular online services cook up downloadable weekly menus, meal prep tips and shopping lists to make it easier. Happy Herbivore’s GetMealPlans.com provides low-fat, plant-based vegan recipes that are adaptable for gluten-free eating.
Single or family three-meals-a-day plans cost $5 for one week or $18.99 for one month.
EMeals.com is similar, but its plans are also available in classic, clean eating, paleo, Mediterranean, low-carb, simple gourmet and other versions. EMeals’ shopping lists have the added bonus of being tied to the weekly specials at Kroger, Publix, Walmart, Whole Foods, Safeway and other major supermarkets.
Its dinner-only menus are offered in three-, six- and 12-month subscriptions for $21, $35, and $58, respectively.
