Covered Bridges Ride

A favorite scenic route of the Central Bucks Bicycle Club, the Covered Bridges Ride takes bikers through six historic covered bridges in Bucks County. Be prepared to work hard, though, cautions Linda Salkovitz, CBBC president. At approximately 60 miles, the hilly trek features more than 4,500 feet of climbing. (Riders should walk their bikes through the bridges.) The start/finish point is by Frenchtown, N.J., which has a number of options for food and lodging.

Lawrence Hopewell Trail

Catch historic sites, nature preserves, and plenty of lush, green landscape on this ride through Lawrence and Hopewell Townships in Mercer County. With plenty of spots to picnic along the way, this trail can be perfect for a weekend adventure with family or friends.
Get there | The trail starts between the Province Line Road access and the Route 1 bicycle pedestrian overpass in Lawrence, N.J.
Lake Nockamixon

Lake Nockamixon offers nine miles of beginner to advanced mountain bike trails in a constant rolling terrain, according to Ridenox.com. The routes become more difficult the farther away from the trailhead you go.
Get there | Nockamixon State Park is along PA 563, just off PA 313, five miles east of Quakertown and nine miles west of Doylestown. The main entrances are along PA 563 and can be reached from PA 309
and PA 313 or from the north from PA 611 and PA 412.

Tour de Open Space
This road tour takes riders past preserved farmland and open space in the Wickecheoke Creek greenway in western Hunterdon County. There will be three options: a hilly ride of about 35 miles, a gently rolling 35-mile ride, and a short, family-friendly trip along the D&R Canal tow path.

International Ride of Silence
People of all ages and skill levels will gather to honor cyclists injured or killed in bike/car accidents. The event serves to raise community awareness to safely share the roads.

Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic
The Parx Philly Cycling Classic is comprised of both men’s and women’s professional races as well as an amateur ride starting in Manayunk and traveling through East Falls and Fairmount Park. New this year, organizers expanded the amateur ride, giving the public the opportunity to bike the same course as the pros.

Princeton Tour de Cure
Riders of all levels join together to raise funds for diabetes research, education, and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association. Route distances include 10, 30, 62.3, and 100 miles.

Thompson Bucks County Classic
Held in conjunction with the Doylestown Arts Festival, the Thompson Bucks County Classic offers several events over two days. The 103-mile UCI Road Race goes from Doylestown to New Hope on Saturday. The next day consists of the Cyclosportif Ride (open to cyclists of all abilities), children’s races, and the Women’s and Men’s Criterium.
