The Boulevardier cocktail dates back to the late 1920s, but it’s on the comeback in bars and restaurants. It’s simple and delicious and makes a great club kickoff.

The Boulevardier Cocktail is basically a winterized Negroni. Simply replace the gin of a Negroni with a whiskey or rye of your choosing. This drink can be sweeter when made with more Vermouth or made more bitter by increasing your Campari. The combination of these three ingredients is easy, delicious and ideal for sipping all winter long.

TO MAKE

(1) In a cocktail shaker filled with ice combine all of the ingredients except the orange peel. Stir until well chilled and evenly combined. (2) Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. (3) Rub the orange peel, orange side down around the rim of the glass and then twist to express the oil into the drink and drop into the glass. Clink.
